I think the pigeons r stupid because they know they shoot them I think he compares her cause she goes with the flow beans and Palmer's Palmer's is good beans is bad on his ninth bday he became with the group on his tenth he became a wringer I think it the middle chapters because that's whenever everything starts to happen I think the theme pick the right friends
ReplyDeleteSomething to represent that they don't like pigeons.he doesn't have a strong feeling for Dorothy there just friends.beans and palmer both are good friends but palmer doesn't what to be a wringer unlike beans.at the beginning palmer has a birthday party and gets is first nickname ,snots. In the middle of the story palmer gets the treatment but backs because he has a pigeon,so beans got mad.At the end nipper got caught to get shot at but when he was released he landed on palmers head.the theme is you can always make a difference in your life.
ReplyDeleteHe compares dorathey to a floating pool because she's laid back and calm. Dorathy and Palmer are alike by they don't like the pigeon killing. They are different by Palmer likes the boys but dorathy doesn't.palmer is not ready for his tenth birthday but on his tenth birthday he is worried.in the first couple of paragraphs it talks about him not wanting to become a wringer.the theme of wringer is you don't have to do what every nbody else does.
ReplyDeleteGood job every body!☺
ReplyDeleteI think the symbolisim of the piegon is that the piegons do not want to die. I think he means by the term "floating" in a pool means that they are friends they aren't their relationship is off and on. Dorthey and Palmer both are quiet and loveable but they are different because sometimes Palmer likes to ruffhouse around sometimes but Do they doesn't like to ruffhouse around. On Palmer 9th birthday his mother was there but his dad and on his 10th birthday his dad was there but his mom wasn't but at both birthdays beans and the guys were there. Palmer made new friends at his party and got the treatment for the first time, then during a blizzard he found a piegon and named him nipper, then the guys found nipper and for they took him and freed him by the railroad in the city and he got caught and shot and died. "Don't let people take advantage of you", I said this because all of the guys liked to be a wringer and wring piegons but Palmer has a piegon but he doesn't want to be a wringer or wring his piegon.
ReplyDeleteThey put the bird on there because the whole book it about wringing necks . it means that his feelings are going everywhere like sometimes he likes her and sometimes not. Beans and Palmers relationship is different because beans is very rude and palmer is not really the same but sometimes he is . on his 9th party he was just getting into the group his tenth party was when he was really like very well known .
ReplyDeletePalmer laroe was not looking forward to becoming a wringer and trying not to become one.the theme is not to change who you are.
1. What I think the symbolism of the pigeon represented in the book was bravery and fear.
ReplyDelete2. What Palmer means when he compares his feelings for Dorothy to "floating" in a pool is that he trusts Dorothy and when u are in a pool floating u are trusting the water to hold u up.
3. What Palmer and Beans have in common is that they both were given the treatment. What paled and Beans don't have in common is that Palmer doesn't want to be wringer but Beans does want to be a wringer.
4. Palmer's 9th birthday party is similar to his 10th birthay party is because they both are celebrating Palmer's day of birth. Palmer's 9th birthday party is different from his 10th birthday party because they are celebrating two different ages.
5. I think 30 -40 are the most important because that's when they capture Nipper and where Palmer gets mad at Dorothy because she let him go at the train station.
6. I think the theme of the story is just because everyone else is doing it doesn't mean u have because Palmer doesn't want to be a wringer and like all of the other boys want to be a wringer.
2.beans means that his feelings are just kind of chill and relaxed by a little bit bumpy. 3 .beans and Palmer are alike because they both have nicknames but they are different because beans is the leader and palmer isn't. 4.on his 9 the birthday is different from his 10th birthday are different because he became a wringer on his 10th but on his 9th he just got a nickname. 5.first he had his 9th birthday then then the festival then the pigeon came to his door fourth the second festival last 10 the birthday
ReplyDelete1. I think the simbolism of the pigeons means "death" because in the story the pigeons are being shot abd killed to raise money.
ReplyDelete2. What Palmer means by "floating" in a pool is like, their relationship is off and on. They come together and then they drift aspart. Their greeting are sometimes good
and sometimes bad.
3. Palmer and Dorothy are different, because Palmer is a boy and Dorothy is a girl. Dorothy has always been nice to others, but has not. Palmer had a pet pigeon and Dorothy did not. Palmer and Dorothy both got bullied, they both understood each other, and they both have done somthing they shouldn't.
4. Palmer's 9th and 10th birthdays are different, because on his 9th birthday he got the treatment, but on his 10th birthday he didn't get the treatment. On his 9th birthday he became part of the group, but on his 10th birthday he had already been a member of the group. Palmer's 9th and 10th birthdays are alike, because he invited Beans, Henry, and Mutto to both parties.
5. The book "Winger" is about a boy named Palmer and he doesn't want to be a wringer. Palmer had his 9th birthday and invited these three boys who were named Beans, Henry, and Mutto. After his birthday they went to the park to find this guy named Farquar, and he gives out the " treatment" which is a big bruise on your arm. Later next year before he turns ten a pigeon becomes Palmer's pet after a blizzard in January. Palmer names the pigeon Nipper, but one day when Palmer came home something happened, so Palmer decides to let Nipper go with the help of his friend Dorothy. A
