longitude and latitude


The video of longitude and latitude will help us remember the importance our vocabulary words for finding geographic locations on any given map.

Today we have discussed the importance of using longitude and latitude to find the absolute location of different geographic features.  Here is a United States map that contains lines of longitude and latitude.  Practice finding the coordinates of different locations on the map such as countries, states, and bodies of water.
















Look at the map above to answer the following questions.
What is longitude?
What is latitude?
What state is located at 45 degrees N and 70 degrees E?
What is the longitude and latitude coordinates of Texas?
